ABOUT US
| Open Art Projects is a non-profit foundation devoted to contemporary art which produces projects, materialises artistic concepts, organises exhibitions, and pursues publishing activities. The presentation and production of artistic projects and objects outside the traditional context of the museum and gallery is meant to broaden the field of art’s reception, and to create new spaces for art’s relations with the public. Initiating collaboration between artists, curators, and institutions in Poland and abroad, Open Art Projects creates a platform for exchanging ideas and experiences, searching for relationships, testing strategies, and confronting artistic positions. Producing foreign artists’ projects in Poland is an attempt to find new points of reference for their work, and above all, creates a chance for unique works to arise commenting on the local reality. Organising Polish artists’ projects and exhibitions abroad, in turn, introduces their work into a new context, and also into the international contemporary art circuit, aiding their promotion. The Foundation is financed by private sponsors and with funding from Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. It consults its activities with outstanding experts in the field – among the members of the Open Art Projects program board are Paulo Herkenhoff and Anda Rottenberg.
